This is one of my handcrafted metal pieces made of solid bronze.  Bronze is such a warm golden color totally different from brass.  Many consider bronze a gold alternative.  The bronze triangular pendant is 3" x 1 3/8".  Attached to the triangle with a rivet, is a 32mm x 12mm Tangerine cultured Sea Glass pointed leaf design.  There are four 8mm orange South American topaz beads attached  to the solid bronze chain.  The chain is closed with a handcrafted S-hook made of solid bronze wire.  The last picture shows the back of the pendant.

Bronze Smiths make bronze by melting two different metals and mixing them. The two metals are copper and tin. The first known existence of BRONZE dates to about 3500 BC and the Sumerians and lends its name to the Bronze Age. The discovery of bronze enabled people to create better metal objects than before. Tools, weapons, armor, and various building materials, like decorative tiles, made of bronze were harder and more durable than their stone and copper. As time progressed, the use of bronze in art, sculpture and architecture flourished. Bronze and copper jewelry has always existed and always will.

Bronze does have one drawback, which is that the copper content can cause an oxidation reaction with your skin oils, creating a greenish layer of copper carbonate.

This layer is easily washed off, and you can reduce or eliminate the oxidation by taking your jewelry off at night, and washing it regularly with soap and water.

This piece was coated with a wax called Renaissance Wax, which prevents the jewelry from tarnishing and inhibits the oxidation reaction with your skin oils.
