Bronze Festoon Pendant with Green Agate Cabochon on Bronze Chain Necklace
A gorgeous Bronze Festoon Pendant with a Green Agate Cabochon is the focal of this 19" necklace. With the pendant the necklace drops to 21". The pendant measures 2 1/2' x 1 7/8" and the cabochon is 20mm. The green agate seems to glow in its setting. Both the pendant and the 4.5mm Bronze Chain it is hanging on are both protected with a jewelers Protecta Clear coating that I applied so that you do not have to worry about tarnish. This necklace will remain nice and shiny and the beautiful rich color it is now. I just love the color of Bronze before it tarnishes. The chain is closed with a Bronze S-Hook that was also coated.
The first known existence of BRONZE dates to about 3500 BC and the Sumerians and lends its name to the Bronze age. The discovery of bronze enabled people to create better metal objects than before. Tools, weapons, armor, and various building materials, like decorative tiles, made of bronze were harder and more durable than their stone and copper. As time progressed, the use of bronze in art, sculpture and architecture flourished. Bronze and copper jewelry has always existed and always will.
