I used a gorgeous 32mm Bronze Etched Melon Bead as the focal for this very attractive necklace. The bead is solid bronze and a very pretty soft golden color. I added Black Glass Pony Beads to give it a clean contemporary look. This necklace is closed with Bronze cord end caps and a Bronze chain. The chain makes this necklace adjustable fro 17 to 19". I coated all of the bronze pieces with Protecta Clear liquid to prevent tarnishing.

The first known existence of bronze dates to about 3500 BC and the Sumerians and lends its name to the Bronze age. The discovery of bronze enabled people to create better metal objects than before. Tools, weapons, armor, and various building materials, like decorative tiles, made of bronze were harder and more durable than their stone and copper. As time progressed, the use of bronze in art, sculpture and architecture flourished. Bronze and copper jewellery has always existed and always will.
